2017 forays. Arrive at 10.30am for an 11am start
October 15 Cockfield Rachel Richards
Meet outside the Newsagents in Cockfield, DL13 5AA (Grid ref NZ127242) at 10.30am for a foray on Cockfield fell. Tea and cake afterwards.
October 21 Gilling Rhona Sutherland
From the north on the B1363 turn right at the Fairfax Arms in Gilling East. Continue down that road which turns into a track (which is a bit rough) to the Gilling lakes. Meet at 10.30am at SE588766, where there is limited parking on the left hand side of the road and access to the bottom lake.
October 22 High Coniscliffe Tom Kirby
Leave Darlington on the A67 towards Piercebridge. Pass through Merrybent and park up in the lay-by NZ2371 1392 about 1/4mile out of the village on the right. The foray is across the road, in an area of scrub and woodland along the banks of the Tees. This is a relatively small ecosystem which has not been the subject of a foray for many years…Alan Legg was probably the last man to set foot in the copse! Darlington Nats will have local knowledge and they are joining us on the day.
October 29 Dukehouse Wood Mike Cruse
November 5 Bearpark Wood Val Standen
November 11 Harehope Quarry Val Standen
