      It looks like Pluteus cervinus to me see the pink tinge on the gills which suggests pink spores.

      thanks, Doug. And is it normal for such a mature specimen to bear such a dark grey cap? I couldn’t identify the stump itself but around it grew mainly sycamore. I left it in place, so no spore print taken
