This is the first time I have attempted to engage in an internet forum and am testing the water so to speak!. Seriously though I have been attempting to familiarise myself with Myxomycetes and although making decent progress is anyone known who is willing and capable of confirmation or otherwise of ones finds. I know that Bruce Ing was the recognised expert but is he still active or has someone else grasped the nettle.
Doug.
Hi Doug,
There is a wealth of information on the internet specifically on myxomycetes, primarily in the form of well illustrated keys. Fortunately, myxos are in general easily (or rather not so difficult) to get a handles on from their macro form followed up with microscopy. The University of Iowa books and keys are very good but the NEFSG has some excellent reading matter in the portable library.
I will indicate some good links after this send.
Best,
Tom
